Abstract

Soil serves as a construction material that acts as the foundation for a building's structure; given this critical role, the material must meet specific required criteria to ensure it performs its intended function effectively. Consequently, the specifications regarding the properties of the soil to be utilized must comply with applicable regulations, such as SNI standards. Consequently, a soil investigation is conducted—a process involving the collection and analysis of data regarding soil conditions at a specific site—to determine soil characteristics and parameters; this investigation also serves to identify issues encountered in the field and the appropriate measures to address them. This investigation involves the study and laboratory testing of the soil to determine its characteristics, as well as its physical and mechanical properties, in order to obtain the desired results. Sieve analysis results show that 45.71% of the material was retained on the No. 4 sieve (4.75 mm), with a dry density (at 95% compaction) of 1.492 g/cm³; based on these results, the soil is classified as clay
