LEX NUSANTARA: Journal of Lex Syar’i and Positive Law

1. General Provisions

  • Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review by any other journal.

  • Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscripts, including the originality of the work, proper citations, and the accuracy of data used.

  • Articles should be written in proper Indonesian or English.

  • All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process by reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.

2. Focus and Scope

Manuscripts must align with the journal’s focus on the dialectics, comparison, and integration between Islamic Law and Positive Law, including aspects such as:

  • Family Law

  • Criminal and Civil Law

  • Sharia Economic Law

  • Constitutional Law

  • Legal Legislation and Policy

  • Fiqh and Maqasid al-Shariah in the context of modern law

3. Article Structure

Scholarly articles should be organized into the following sections:

  • Title (maximum 15 words; clear and informative)

  • Author Name(s) and Affiliation(s)

  • Abstract (150–250 words in both Indonesian and English)

  • Keywords (3–5 keywords or key phrases)

  • Introduction

  • Literature Review (if necessary)

  • Research Methodology

  • Results and Discussion

  • Conclusion and Recommendations

  • References

4. Technical Writing Guidelines

  • Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.docx)

  • Word count: 5,000 – 8,000 words (including references)

  • Margins: Left 3 cm, Right/Top/Bottom 2.5 cm

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing, justified alignment

  • Citation and references must follow the latest APA Style
    (Use of reference managers like Mendeley, Zotero, etc., is recommended)

In-text citation examples:

  • (Aziz, 2020)

  • (Rahman & Yusuf, 2019, p. 45)

5. Plagiarism Policy

  • The editorial team checks all manuscripts for plagiarism using software such as Turnitin.

  • Manuscripts with a similarity index over 25% will be automatically rejected.

6. Manuscript Submission

  • Authors must register and submit their manuscripts via the Open Journal System (OJS) on the journal’s official website.

  • A user guide for the OJS is available on the help page.

7. Publication Fee

  • No Article Processing Charges (APCs).
    All stages—from submission and review to publication—are free of charge.

8. Copyright and Licensing

  • Published articles are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).

  • Authors retain copyright, but the journal holds the right to publish and openly distribute the work.
