Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to LEX NUSANTARA: Journal of Lex Syar’i and Positive Law undergo a rigorous selection and review process to ensure the quality and originality of the published scholarly work. This process includes the following stages:
1. Initial Screening by the Editor
The editor will conduct an initial review of the manuscript to ensure:
-
Relevance to the journal’s focus and scope
-
Completeness of article components
-
Adherence to publication ethics
The editor will also check for plagiarism using software such as Turnitin. Manuscripts with a high similarity index (over 25%) will be automatically rejected.
2. Peer Review Process
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will be forwarded to two peer reviewers with expertise in the relevant subject area.
This journal uses a double-blind peer review system, where the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept anonymous to ensure objectivity.
Reviewers will assess the following aspects:
-
Originality and novelty of the topic
-
Relevance to the journal's focus
-
Clarity of objectives and arguments
-
Strength of methodology and analysis
-
Quality and relevance of references
-
Contribution to the development of Islamic law and positive law
3. Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers’ feedback, the editor will make one of the following decisions:
-
Accepted without revision
-
Accepted with minor revision
-
Major revision required
-
Rejected
Manuscripts requiring revision will be returned to the author for improvement. Authors are expected to resubmit the revised manuscript along with a response to the reviewers’ comments within the specified timeframe (typically 2 weeks for minor revisions and 4 weeks for major revisions).
4. Re-review (If Necessary)
If necessary, the revised manuscript will be returned to the same reviewers for a second round of evaluation before a final decision is made.
5. Final Decision and Production
Once the manuscript is finally accepted, the editor will proceed with final editing (copyediting), layout formatting, and online publication.
Review Timeline
The review process generally takes between 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the reviewers’ response time and the promptness of revisions submitted by the author.
