Author Guidelines
Authors who wish to submit their manuscripts to JOEES: Journal of Elementary Education Studies must follow the guidelines below. Manuscripts that do not conform to these guidelines may be returned without review.
1. General Requirements

Manuscripts submitted to JOEES must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

The manuscript should be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia using clear and concise academic language.

All manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer review process.
-
Authors must agree to the journal’s Publication Ethics and Open Access Policy under the CC BY 4.0 License.
-
No Article Processing Charges (APCs) are applied. Submission and publication are free of charge.
2. Types of Manuscripts Accepted

Original Research Articles
-
Literature Reviews
-
Case Studies
All submissions must relate to elementary education or early childhood education, in line with the journal's Focus and Scope.
3. Manuscript Structure
The manuscript should follow the structure below:
a. Title
-
Clear, concise, and informative.
-
Written in sentence case (only the first word and proper nouns capitalized).
-
Maximum 15 words.
b. Author(s) and Affiliation
-
Full name(s) without academic titles.
-
Institutional affiliation, city, and country.
-
Email address of the corresponding author.
c. Abstract
-
150–250 words.
-
Should include background, objective, methods, results, and conclusion.
-
Written in English and Bahasa Indonesia (for manuscripts in Bahasa Indonesia).
d. Keywords
-
3 to 5 keywords, separated by semicolons (;).
-
Relevant to the research topic.
e. Introduction
-
Contains background, research problems, objectives, and a brief literature review.
f. Method
-
Clearly describe research design, participants, instruments, procedures, and data analysis techniques.
g. Results and Discussion
-
Present findings with relevant tables/figures (if any).
-
Discuss findings in relation to relevant literature and theoretical framework.
h. Conclusion
-
Summarize main findings, contributions, and suggestions for future research.
i. References
-
Use APA Style (7th edition) consistently.
-
At least 80% of references should be from the last 10 years, especially from journals.
-
Use a reference manager (e.g., Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote).
4. Formatting Guidelines
-
File format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)
-
Font: Times New Roman, size 12 pt
-
Spacing: 1.5 lines
-
Paper size: A4
-
Margin: 2.5 cm on all sides
-
Manuscript length: 4000–7000 words, excluding references
5. Submission Process
-
Manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system at: (insert journal submission link)

Authors must register an account before submitting.
-
Only manuscripts submitted via the system will be processed.
6. Plagiarism Policy
-
Manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software.
-
The acceptable similarity index is below 20%.
-
Plagiarized manuscripts will be rejected immediately.
7. Review and Decision
-
Manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers.
-
The editorial decision (accepted, revisions required, or rejected) will be communicated within 6–8 weeks.
8. Copyright and Licensing
-
Authors retain copyright.

Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits unrestricted use with proper attribution.
