Publication Ethics
JOEES: Journal of Elementary Education Studies is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against any publication malpractices. This statement is based on the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
The ethical policy of JOEES is to ensure transparency, integrity, and fairness in all stages of the publication process. All parties involved—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—must agree to the following responsibilities:
1. Duties of Authors
-
Authors must ensure that their work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration for publication in other journals.
-
Authors should accurately present their research and provide sufficient detail and references to allow others to replicate the work.
-
Any form of plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification is strictly prohibited.
-
Authors must properly acknowledge all sources of funding and support.
-
All authors listed must have made a significant contribution to the research and approve the final version of the manuscript.
-
Any conflicts of interest must be disclosed.
2. Duties of Editors
-
Editors are responsible for making fair and unbiased decisions on all submitted manuscripts.
-
Editors must evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to the authors’ race, gender, religion, citizenship, or political beliefs.
-
The editorial team must ensure that the peer-review process is confidential, objective, and timely.
-
Editors should take appropriate action when ethical concerns are raised about a submitted or published manuscript.
3. Duties of Reviewers
-
Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and conduct the review process objectively and constructively.
-
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
-
Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and decline to review a manuscript if such conflicts exist.
-
Reviewers should provide clear, evidence-based feedback and avoid personal criticism of the authors.
4. Duties of the Publisher
-
The publisher, Lembaga Berugak Baca, ensures that ethical standards are maintained and supports the editors and reviewers in handling allegations of misconduct.
-
The publisher is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the academic record and publishing corrections, clarifications, or retractions when necessary.
JOEES takes all allegations of ethical misconduct seriously and will investigate complaints according to COPE procedures. Proven misconduct may result in retraction, corrections, or other actions deemed appropriate.
